The 6th edition of the annual Zafiro Palma Marathon is almost here. This year it will be held on October 10, with a route that takes in the old town of Palma de Mallorca and the Paseo Marítimo seafront promenade.

This international event is approved by the RFEA and included in its official race calendar, as well as in the AIMS calendar (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).

The success of the Zafiro Palma Marathon is due to its perfect organisation, the unbeatable Mallorca weather, and also the wonderful route the race takes around the city.

It begins in the incomparable setting of the Paseo Marítimo seafront promenade, right in front of the Cathedral and alongside the Parc de la Mar. After a first few kilometres to get the muscles warmed up, the race enters the historic heart of Palma, passing through the alleys in the Arab quarter and cobbled slopes alongside the city wall, and running along the main boulevards such as Las Ramblas and the Paseo del Borne to return to the Paseo Marítimo seafront where the longest stage of the race begins.

On the Paseo Marítimo the views are truly unbeatable. On the one side you have the sea and the Royal Yacht Club, with every kind of boat you could imagine, including huge luxury yachts, and also the port with its fishing boats opposite the Lonja. On the other side of the street there is a mixture of buildings from different periods in the history of the city that adorn the entire route; historic buildings, hotels, terraces, etc., and on the horizon, the Bellver Castle surrounded by one of the most beautiful forests in Palma.
