Alcudia: the top destination for the top sport

Once again, Alcudia has been chosen to host both the IRONMAN Mallorca events. The reason for that is very simple: Alcudia meets all the requirements for the race to be a success both in terms of participation and organisation.

Located in the north of Mallorca, Alcudia has a huge bay with more than 3.5km of beach and very calm waters most of the year. Put your triathlete skills to the test! You still have time to sign up for one of the most exciting sports events in a unique setting in Alcudia.

The swimming leg takes place in the sea off the spectacular beach of Puerto de Alcudia, famous for its excellent location and facilities. With a water temperature of around 19º at this time of year and little or no waves. The race will begin with a Rolling start.

The 180km or 90km cycling leg follows a truly spectacular route. The route begins in Puerto de Alcudia and heads towards Puerto de Pollença to start the climb to Lluc, the only stage in the race with a difference in altitude of over 2.000 metres. The descents involve very short slopes which you come down quite fast and have to control really carefully. The route continues through several villages in the flat part of the island such as Moscari, Campanet, Muro, Sa Pobla, before returning to Puerto de Alcúdia.

After the cycling leg, there is still a marathon to run along a flat route which borders Alcúdia beach and continues for 42km before reaching the finish line.
