Warm winter in Mallorca
We recommend you try some outdoor activities as there are so many to choose from. Here are some of our favourites:
- Do your favourite sport: running, tennis, golf, cycling... Mallorca is the perfect setting.
- Get out your hiking boots: winter is the best time of year for hiking. There are numerous routes to discover in the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains.
- And why not take a walk along the beach? It’s not all about swimming and sunbathing. Walking along the seashore in the winter sunshine is also a fabulous experience. And you may even be tempted to dip your toes into the Mediterranean waters!
Mallorca winter activities
Mallorca in winter and spring offers a long list of activities and events to enjoy: popular festivals, craft markets, seasonal food fairs for mushrooms, olive oil, honey and much more.
We recommend you rent a car and tour the island at your own pace, stopping whenever you find something you want to see. Although Mallorca is only 80km from top to toe, the island can seem almost endless. The island is home to picturesque mountain villages in the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains, such as Valldemossa, Deià or Fornalutx. Cobbled streets, impeccable houses, flowers and plants adorning centuries-old façades. These are mandatory visits!
If you prefer something a little more adventurous, you can explore mystical sites, natural caves or buildings that still conserve elements of the ancient confrontations with pirates.
And, of course, Mallorca also has spectacular vineyards and around 70 different bodegas across the whole island. So if you love a glass of fine wine, you are also in luck! We recommend you visit bodegas such as the ones in Santa María and Binissalem, famous for their selection of Binissalem wines.
Special and bohemian atmosphere
Culture is an important part of local life in Mallorca. Literary competitions, concerts and exhibitions are regularly held in different locations on the island.
At Zafiro Hotels we recommend you visit the Museum of Mallorca if you want to learn more about the history of the island, the Shoe and Leather Museum in Inca or the Miró Foundation in Palma if you prefer something more avant-garde.
And hand in hand with local culture, there is also local cuisine. Mallorca is a great island for foodies! We won’t go into detail here. A previous post has everything you need to know: 3 typical Mallorcan dishes that you really must try. Take a look and don't miss any of the details!
We are a great family!
