Learn to Sail in Mallorca

There are lots of sailing schools and nautical centres in Palma and other areas on the coast of Mallorca which offer great courses, some offer beginners courses in group or individual, some even offer weekly package deals. A short distance from  the Zafiro Palace Palmanova and the  Zafiro Palmanova is the famous national sailing school “Calanova” which offers the  novice the opportunity to  build upon their skills  so they can  compete as an expert. At the other end of the island from Palmanova, 14km from the beachfront hotel  Zafiro Bahía in Playa de Muro and some 20km from the Zafiro Mallorca in Can Picafort  is another very important sailing school “Sail and Surf Pollensa” which again has some really good deals and offers the chance to learn new skills in the lovely crystal clear open waters of the Mediterranean. The hidden depths of Mallorca

If what you are looking for is to try  your hand at some diving in Mallorca then one of recommended places for beginners is Punta de La avanzada in the bay of Pollensa ,not far from the Zafiro Can Picafort, under the “Fortaleza” and the lighthouse because as it  is in a very sheltered area it one of the safest places in Mallorca for first timers, if the sea conditions are right, or even for those wishing to refresh their diving skills. Punta de la avanzada has a maximum Depth of 12 metres and a Sandy bottom where you will see all sorts of aquatic animals and because of its sheltered position it is easy find baby creatures like octopus, cuttlefish and flounder and if the conditions are right for a night dive then you will see the octopus and cuttlefish come out to hunt, one of the most amazing sights in Mallorca!

The big cheese of Mallorca

If you are an experienced diver then very close to Zafiro Cala Mesquida, with a maximum depth of 30 metres and situated in Cala Ratjada is es Faralló better known as “el gran queso” ( the big cheese) one of the most awe inspiring places to dive, it has infinite number of tunnels  the big cheese is an reef of hollow rock  full of holes, caverns and tunnels, the game of light in the caves  is  the best  on the island of Mallorca.
