Calling all running lovers!  the Palma de Mallorca Marathon 2017 is fast approaching!

This family Marathon takes place on October 15, 2017 in the Balearic capital.  Zafiro Hotels, as official partners of the PMM with our hotels in Palmanova, would like to give you all the details and hopefully encourage you to participate in the marathon that comes to life in October in Palme de Mallorca. The circuit starts from the Parc de la Mar, opposite the Cathedral, and continues along the promenade of Palma Bay, passing through the historic centre of the city.

Each year, the PMM brings together hundreds of people of all nationalities, who are motivated to take part in this very special sporting event. Although it might seem a bit strange it is not just the locals who take part in the race but also hundreds of tourists who come from all over Europe to Mallorca specially to take part in this event. The participants take the opportunity to visit the island to enjoy the mild climate and of course to run the PMM which gives them a chance to see the Capital city from a very different viewpoint. As well as the day of the marathon the week leading up to the race there will be events and activities for all ages so why not sign up for the Breakfast Run or encourage the younger members of the family to take part in the Palma Kids Run.

It is important to known your own limits and set your own goals and of course preparation for your goal is essential however one of the best things about the Palma de Mallorca Marathon 2017 is that you can choose the distance that you want to face that day. The full marathon is ideal for the truly committed runners, the half-marathon for those who don´t want to push themselves too far or 10 kilometres for those who prefer to take it easy or are perhaps just starting out. There are prizes for the winners!   The first 5 winners, male and female in each of the categories will win a trophy, but of course it is the taking part that counts the most and hopefully reaching the goals you set yourself.

• Juvenile: (10 kilometres only) for those born between 2000 and 2001.


• Junior: Born between 1998 and 1999.


• Promesa: Born between 1995 and 1997.


• Senior: Born between 1994 but not over 35 years old


• Veterans: the categories are split every 5 years starting from 35 years: M/F35 (35 to 39 years) M/F40 (40 to 44 years) and so on.

Palma Kids Run

The Palma Kids Run is a set of races aimed at children aged between 2 and 12 years. Children will have a great time participating in these races, the registration is free as the races are intended to promote sport values, social integration, solidarity and personal motivation. Parents are eligible to accompany their children during the race if they wish. The Palma kids race day will be on October 14 at 17:00 hours the starting point is Avenida Antonio Maura and the course runs through the Avenida and Paseo de Born. the circuit will be completely closed to traffic and it will be secured by the organisers and the local police.
