Long Course Weekend, a unique event in Mallorca

For the first time, ever Mallorca will be hosting the most dynamic sporting event of the year The Long Course Weekend; a long weekend in which the most daring athletes and triathletes will participate in a competition based on three different disciplines over three days.

The Long Course Weekend 2017 Mallorca will be held in Alcudia, one of the most important tourist destinations on the island, thousands of tourists choose Alcudia for their holidays whether it be with the family, as a couple or with friends because of its beaches, tranquillity and its atmosphere which is quite different from other areas on the island. But it is not just a popular holiday spot, Alcudia has become a firm favourite with the hundreds of sportsmen and sportswomen who come to this beautiful town of Mallorca to enjoy their favourite sports.

During the high season, visitors can enjoy water and nautical sports however Alcudia welcomes hundreds of sports enthusiasts all year round who come to do all types of outdoor sports ranging from cycling to hiking thanks to the benign Mediterranean climate. Long Course Weekend 2017 Alcudia: three days three sports

Long Course Weekend 2017 Alcudia: three days, three sports This event is held over 3 days each day a different discipline: swimming, cycling and marathon. The event will begin on Friday, November 3^rd in the Bay of Alcudia, in which the athletes will have to overcome the first hurdle of this competition, swimming distance of 3800 metres in open waters the following day Saturday 4^th, the athletes of the Long Course Weekend Mallorca 2017 will see some incredible landscape on the 172-kilometre bike route and to finish a weekend full of activity, energy and effort comes the last event of the competition on Sunday 5^th  a mere 42.195-kilometre marathon. According to the organisers of the event "Each sport will be developed individually during the weekend. The total times of each athlete during the 3 days, will decide the podium of the 3 best male and female athletes of the Long Course Weekend ".

If you don´t feel properly prepared for the competition or simply prefer to specialise in only one of the disciplines you may do so. Nevertheless, to get one of the Long Course Weekend medal you will have to overcome the long distances each day accordingly. But as the completion is divided into three days you can always sign up for any of the three competitions separately, whether its swimming, cycling or running.

But remember to win that all-important Long Course Weekend medal you will have to register and overcome all three distances. So only those triathletes who achieve the three distances in each of the disciplines will have the honour of being named as finalists or finishers of the Long Course Weekend Mallorca.  In addition, the top three men and women in the ABSOLUTE category in Long Course Weekend category will receive a trophy as a reward for their efforts.
