The most traditional dishes in Mallorcan cuisine include simple dishes such as “tumbet” (a vegetarian dish with aubergine, red peppers, tomatoes and potatoes), “pa amb oli” (rustic bread topped with grated tomato, olive oil, olives, cheese, ham or fish) and “frito mallorquín” (based on a mixture of fried offal and vegetables), or recipes that require far more time and preparation such as “arroz brut” (a savoury rice casserole) or “caldereta de langosta” (a lobster stew).
And visitors must also never forget to try all the different local sausages and cold cuts (sobrasada, camaiot, botifarró, etc.) and the delicious island desserts (ensaimada, gató or almond cake, loquat dessert, etc.). And all of this great food is also further enhanced by the age-old wine-growing traditions of the island and the flavourful local varieties of grape, such as the Manto Negro or Callet.
The most traditional liqueur on the island is known as “hierbas mallorquinas”, and it also occupies a very special place alongside all the deliciousness of the food and wine. It’s made with a mixture of local herbs, anise and sugar, and is usually drunk after a meal.
Can Ribera by Zafiro: authentic flavours in a modern and sophisticated style

The continental breakfast is also very varied and extensive, offering a range of both sweet and savoury options as well as eggs cooked to order. A perfect way to start the day with a great energy boost.
Dinners are a very special experience at the Can Ribera Restaurant by Zafiro. Designed by two young Mallorcan chefs, the new menu is inspired by the beautiful scenery of the island and a reinterpretation of traditional recipes and innovative creations: a seasonal “coca mallorquina” (a type of shortcrust pastry pizza), grilled octopus with a sobrasada sauce, squid stuffed with prawns, fried broccoli with spicy Japanese mayonnaise, glazed lamb ribs... each and every one of them totally delicious.
The passion for local produce is also reflected in the restaurant wine cellar, where the wines from top local wineries take pride of place. Mallorcan wineries: Bodegas Miquel Oliver, Bodegas Butxet, Bodegas Binigrau, Bodegas Vinyes Mortitx…
