The most classic: sa Foradada
A rocky outcrop along the coast, a very fortunately positioned natural hole and the most amazing colours. At the Mirador de Sa Foradada viewpoint you can see one of the most beautiful sunsets and one of the ones that the local people also like best. Located in the heart of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains, on the edge of a cliff and with spectacular views.
The viewpoint is also very near the picturesque village of Valldemossa. A good idea is to set off early so that before you get settled to watch the sun go down, you have time to stop off in this lovely village and enjoy a traditional sweet-potato bun accompanied by a Mallorcan almond smoothie. A genuine pleasure!
The most exclusive: Port d'Andratx
The sound of the masts swaying in the wind as the sun sets between the boats, a yacht entering the port under an orange sky... An awesome sight.
One of the most attractive ports in Mallorca, Port d'Andratx combines the beauty of a location at the foot of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains with an incredible view of the Mediterranean Sea. A port that combines exclusivity with typical island authenticity. Sailboats, yachts, boutiques, first-class restaurants and bars, and a fish market that still keeps alive the spirit of the fishermen of yesteryear.
Enjoy one of the best sunsets on the island from one of the most privileged terraces together with your family or friends. Or take a walk around the port and a few photos of the stunning views of the Sa Mola lighthouse.
The most charming: Formentor Lighthouse
Have you ever seen the sunset from a lighthouse? At 210m above sea level, the Formentor lighthouse is the most emblematic lighthouse on the island, dating back to the mid-19th century. A magical place about 20 kilometres from Pollença from which, if you’re lucky and the weather and visibility are good, you can see the outline of the nearby island of Menorca!
Enough said. Just bear in mind that visiting Mallorca without having got to the Formentor Lighthouse is a bit of a sin. If you make it there after travelling along the long and winding road with its endless curves and then wait for the sun to fall, you will never forget it!
The most magical: Es Trenc Beach
The last dip of the day together with your family or friends, the gentle sea breeze and the magnificent feeling of the sand beneath your feet. Sounds good, right? Well, add to all this the fact that you can also see one of the longest and most intense sunsets on the whole island.
Es Trenc is one of the most spectacular beaches in the Mediterranean, and one of the few that still preserves all its natural surroundings. The dunes, plants, fine white sand and crystal-clear waters make it the most magical and heavenly place.
This amazing Caribbean-style beach in Mallorca is the stage for one of the best sunsets on the island. Enjoy this experience first-hand rather than have somebody else tell you all about it!
