Photo locations on Mallorca
Bring up a map of Mallorca and start taking notes, because below is the ideal list if you want to create a perfect photo gallery featuring Mallorca at its best. The locations might not be the most visited, most crowded and best-known places but they are definitely 15 inspiring places on the island that will amaze you at first sight. You’ll want to keep them as a wallpaper on your computer forever!
The beach pier in Alcudia Bay
Let's start this list of beautiful places to photograph on Mallorca with one of the most special locations on the island: the beach in Alcudia. Here you'll find a wooden pier that sticks out into the bay. It's the famous beach pier in Alcudia Bay. Without doubt one of the most photographed places on Mallorca, and one of the most impressive. There's a very special light here, especially at dawn.
The Es Trenc salt flats
Es Trenc is one of the most beautiful photo locations on Mallorca in summer, because the crystal-clear water here makes it look just like the Caribbean. But the best place for a photo is actually just before the beach, at the salt flats where the famous Es Trenc salt is extracted. There, at sunset, with the sun setting over the sea, the salt flats reflect the sky and all its precious, pink nuances.
Caló des Moro
Apart from being one of the most beautiful coves on Mallorca, Es Caló des Moro is a location that shows all the wonders of this island, and a photo will say more than a thousand words. There is a beautiful cliff nearby providing the perfect vantage point. From here you can take a photo from above picturing incredible rocks bathed by intensely turquoise, transparent water that will linger in your memory forever.
S'Albufera de Mallorca
This is one of Mallorca's amazing natural reserves, and the S'Albufera park on Mallorca contains magical corners where you can take unique photographs. One of the most spectacular areas is the Muro stream, covered in reed beds. A recommendation: the light around sunset makes them even more magical.
Es Salt des Freu
Mallorca is more than just beaches. There are fairy-tale locations in the interior, and one we’d like to recommend to you is Es Salt des Freu, also known by many as the Orient waterfall, because it's located near the village of the same name. It takes about 20 minutes to get there by car. It's easy to find and it also gives you a unique opportunity to take photos of the wonderful Mallorcan fields.
Banyalbufar
Since you’re already there, in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain region, you might as well take the opportunity to go to Banyalbufar, which next to Deià is probably one of the most charming villages on Mallorca. If you have time, take a stroll along its streets leading up to the mountains – the house walls will provide you with the perfect frame for a picture postcard photo.
The new church in Son Servera
We jump across to Son Servera, on the east coast of Mallorca, where you'll find one of the most unique buildings on the island: an unfinished church in the neo-Gothic style, towering up in front of you right in the middle of the village.
The dunes in Cala Mesquida
The wooden walkway that takes you through the dunes of Cala Mesquida is a location where you can capture the spectacular simplicity of wild nature with the Mediterranean as a backdrop. Sunrise and sunset are the perfect times to take photos of this beach.
Portitxol
Very near the centre of Palma, Portitxol is a very special neighbourhood. It's popular with residents, since there is a promenade along the seafront here, complete with a bike lane, ideal for sports and daily walks. It's also one of the most photographed places on Mallorca because of its incredible sunset.
The terraces of the Cathedral of Mallorca
The Cathedral of Mallorca is undoubtedly one of the most photographed monuments in the world. However, if you're looking for an original, and truly impressive photo, you should visit its terraces (they have only been open to the public for a few years): you will have the best viewpoint of the Palma city.
Torre de Cala en Basset
This tower provides the perfect spot for photos of the islet Sa Dragonera. The cove by the same name is nearby, ideal for a quick dip. To get there you have to walk for some 40 minutes, starting from the village Sant Elm (Andratx).
Mirador de El Toro
The viewpoint Mirador de El Toro is a truly special location if you want to take a photo of Mallorca’s natural beauty. The El Toro peninsula extends into the horizon and will provide you with a spectacular image of the Mediterranean. If you go down the cliffs you can enjoy a pretty little rocky cove with small natural pools.
Monasterio de Cura
This monastery is located on one of the most picturesque hills of the Pla de Mallorca, and the Santuario de Cura offers you an ideal panorama over the Bay of Palma, surrounded by nature and serenity. The monastery is on top of the hill, with a cafeteria and restaurant where you can have a drink and a bite to eat.
Alcanada
One of the most beautiful beaches for photos of the sunrise. It's located very near our hotels in the Port of Alcudia – Zafiro Palace Alcudia and Zafiro Tropic – and its calm waters and completely natural environment makes it a magical, ideal place for photography away from the hustle and bustle.
Cape Formentor
Cape Formentor, with its cove and lighthouse, also deserves a spot on this list. Even if it’s one of the busiest, most visited places on Mallorca it’s worth a visit to see the incredible cliffs jutting into the Mediterranean. The famous viewpoint Mirador Es Colomer is a good place to park and take photos.
