About Zafiro

After several decades of success in the hospitality industry, Zafiro Hotels is a family-owned hotel company with the DNA of the Plomer family, based in Port d'Alcudia in Mallorca and founded in 2017.

Led by the sisters Antonia and Maria Plomer, the current Zafiro portfolio consists of 14 hotels on the islands of Mallorca and Menorca. The hotels are particularly well known for their design and construction, inspired by the finest resorts in the Caribbean. Company philosophy is based on its Mediterranean essence, its service vocation and a drive for constant improvement.

The Plomer family enters the hotel business. Activity begins mainly with aparthotels focused on families market and Scandinavian markets.

In this stage, the passion of Bartomeu Plomer for the design and architecture of large spaces was already apparent. This passion was the result of his experience in construction, and would accompany him in each and every one of his business projects.

Bartomeu Plomer and a partner founded a hotel management company named VIVA Hotels. A new management team was appointed, leading to a major leap forward in quality.

During this period, María and Antonia Plomer both joined the business, and the hotel chain began to diversify its feeder markets. Attention was focused on offering better customer service and more active listening to their needs.

A new area of the business opened, focused on the Caribbean and renowned for its quality and exceptional service. The learning experience in the Caribbean led to the creation of a new adults-only hotel brand in Mallorca in 2006: Vanity Hotels.

Over the following years, the company significantly increased the quality of its products and opened up new areas of activity as part of its drive towards constant improvement.

Clearly influenced by Bartomeu Plomer, the brand's first 5-star hotel, the Zafiro Palace Alcudia, was inaugurated in 2015, a symbol of the introduction of a new hotel concept in Mallorca.

The hotel is reminiscent of Caribbean resorts, and perfectly encompasses the essence of the chain: modern facilities, large outdoor areas, spacious and elegant private spaces, superior-quality service.

The reorganisation of Viva and Vanity and a transfer of ownership between the family generations lead to the birth of Zafiro Hotels. The new chain has two types of hotel: the Zafiro Palace Collection (5-star hotels) and Zafiro Hotels (4-star hotels).

In that same year, the Zafiro Palace Palmanova Hotel was opened, based on the same luxury resort concept inspired by the Caribbean as the Zafiro Palace Alcudia.

Zafiro Palace Andratx is located in the prestigious area known as Camp de Mar, and opened in 2021. It quickly became the company's flagship hotel, bringing a new way of understanding luxury and hospitality, focused on excellence, innovation and the creation of exceptional experiences.

This 5-star hotel made a pioneering move in 2023 with the introduction of All Inclusive Redefined® in Mallorca, a new kind of all-inclusive services with even more luxurious standards. This also led to the opening of the Zafiro Club in 2024, consisting of the hotel's most outstanding suites and providing exceptional benefits for guests.
